Rich Gardner is entering his second year as Defensive Coordinator of Royals Elite 7v7 Football. In addition to Royals 7v7 Football, he's Co-Founder of Maroon Village and a Performance Coach.

Gardner started his career as the Founder of SecondaryU Inc. - where he worked independently with schools, student athletes, professional athletes and general population clients. After a few years, his focus began to shift to a mission that was socially driven, and during the same time span, he was introduced to Tony Novak, Founder of GoDeep Football, by long time friend and colleague, Harold Blackmon.

With GoDeep, Gardner helped coach and manage the program for five years. He cherished the father-like love, compassion and frankness Mr. Novak gave his student-athletes. Gardner notes "being apart of that was inspiring, especially considering the scarcity of resources in our communities where our student-athletes come from."

Gardner earned his B.S. from Penn State University in Economics in 2003, where he was named a 3rd Team All-American. Later, he was chosen in the 3rd Round of the NFL Draft in 2004, where he played for 4 years.

Mr. Gardner is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accredited through NSCA
